Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy focused on helping a couple work through challenges, understand their relationship better, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another.

Many couples or those in alternative relationship structures come to therapy because they're dealing with a specific challenge, such as communication issues, feeling unsafe/abandoned in the relationship, difficulties around sex, affairs, or considering a breakup. At core, most issues revolve around feeling stuck from painful dynamics that keep getting repeated.

In order to help couple's or those in alternative relationship structures, I often use modalities such as Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Gottman therapeutic techniques to support the clients' goals and work towards changing how we understand ourselves and one another.
